Free 6/5 - Chinese Culture day - Acton

In conjunction with the Town of Acton's 275th Anniversary, Acton Chinese Language School, Acton Recreation Department, and Acton Boxborough Cultural Council will proudly present "2010 Acton Chinese Culture Day" on Saturday, June 5th at NARA Park.

NARA Park is located about a half mile north on Rt. 27 on your left from the intersection of Rt. 27 and 2A when you continue through that intersection. It's actual address is 25 Ledge Rock Way and is across the street from Acton Monument.

This unprecedented Chinese cultural event in Acton features exciting and fantastic programs offering the wide spectrum of Chinese culture throughout the entire day from 10:00am to 5:00pm.

A professional Dragon Dance and several renowned Chinese music, dance, martial arts, yo-yo, drum groups from local and greater Boston will join the event. The live music and cultural performances will be presented to you at the Amphitheatre from 1:30-4:00pm, free of charge.

For food lovers, authentic cuisine from Chinese restaurants of Acton and greater Boston will be provided from 11:30-1:30pm. In addition, Chinese dessert will be available for purchase. A Chinese tea tasting tent will be set up for you to sit down and relax. The tea store will showcase a selection of tea over 80 varieties.

Longing for a piece of traditional Chinese clothing and art works? Chinese stores from Boston will come to NARA to sell Chinese souvenirs, traditional clothing, Chinese paintings, art works, etc. There will be a Chinese Painting and Calligraphy exhibition to showcase art work from both professional artists and painting class students at ACLS. Chinese artists will perform painting show and write names in Chinese for you free of charge.

If you are a plant lover, please go to the Chinese Bonsai tent to enjoy the wonder and beauty of Chinese Bonsai.

Are you wondering what traditional Chinese kids games are? Please bring you children to enjoy the lively Chinese games.

Book vendors will be selling Chinese books, CDs and DVDs. Please check them out for leisure time reading, learning or entertainment. A documentary film about China will be played several times during the day.

Are you amazed by the complexity of Chinese herb medicines and acupunctures? Don't miss the acupuncture demonstration tent! Chinese medicine doctors will provide free consultation.
